increase. Domestic tourists, who were
not interested in visiting in the past, have now started using the vacation
time. During the Dashain holidays, the
number of domestic tourists has increased by making the Phungfunge waterfall in
the Himalayan district Taplejung Mikwakhola rural municipality a destination.
It is becoming easier to visit Phungfunge on vacation. According to Mikwakhola rural municipality,
there has been an increase in the number of domestic tourists visiting
Phungfunge in Taplejung district on Dashain holiday.
After the Covid-19 infection, domestic tourists have now
increased. Gajendra Thalang, information
officer of Mikwakhola village municipality, said that the number of people
going on tours has gradually increased.
He said that there is an increase in domestic tourists entering
Phungfunge during the Dashain holidays.
Some come here with their family and some come here with their
friends. Information officer Thalang
said that although there is no definite data on domestic tourists, tourists
have started coming in a significant number than in the past.
Domestic tourists, who have been staying at home for about 3
years due to Covid-19, have started coming to visit with plans. Since March 2076, domestic and foreign
tourists were zero in all regions of Nepal.
There is no sector or profession that has not been affected due
to Covid-19. The tourism sector seems to
be affected the most. Now, domestic
tourists have to visit Phungfunge waterfall in Taplejung. It is said that the time for tourists to come
to Phungfunge is favorable because the rains are almost over and the waterfall
is big, so domestic tourists will be able to visit easily.
The data of this Phungfunge waterfall has not been
collected. However, it is estimated that
there will be 50,000 domestic tourists every year. The rural municipality has said that they are
going to keep the actual data in the coming days.
